Emerging Artists accepts submissions in the following categories:
ORIGINAL ONE ACTS
- Fall Eatfest - plays 10 to 20 minutes in length - must not have been produced in NYC - no monologues - look for scripts that have a well written plot with a twist ending - Deadline - April 1st.
- Spring Eatfest - plays up to 50 minutes in length - must not have been produced in NYC - character driven plays with unusual subjects and settings with a twist. - Deadline - July 1st
ILLUMINATING ARTISTS: NEW WORK SERIES
EAT’s Illuminating Artists New Work Series is a 5 week festival where EAT provides artists of different artistic disciplines an opportunity to present their work in progress and get feedback from an intimate talk with the audience. The artists present their work as a work-in-progress for one night. The festival will be presented in New York City Mid April – May, 2009.

One Woman Standing (OWS) - one woman shows
One Man Talking (OMT) - one man shows
Clowntown and Bawdyville (CTBV) – clown, vaudeville and physical comedy
Well Noted Shorts (WNS) – short musicals (30 minutes and under)
Notes From a Page (NFP) - new ensemble musicals (30 minutes and over)
Submission materials should include:
- Cover letter explaining the status of your piece in the developmental process.
- Script (full or partial) or Synopsis (for Clown pieces only)
- Headshot & resumé (Performers ONLY)
- 50 word Bio (Performers, Playwrights & Directors)
- CD of Music (Musical Submissions ONLY)
- Press and Video materials from submitted piece or past performances (optional)

Submissions for Playwrights
Emerging Artists is dedicated to developing new plays from an idea to a fully realized production. There are many opportunities for up-and-coming playwrights. We encourage you to submit your previously unproduced works. If you would like to submit a play for consideration, please send a copy of your script along with an introductory letter including your name, telephone number, address and e-mail address.
